This is a case of pure and simple ‘I show you mine, if you show me yours’. Vintage that is. I can by no means match the photographic genius of Paola Kudacki, but I could not resist staging a special little birthday shoot with the girl herself.
I surprised Paola with a vintage white cotton tunic that has these amazing sheer white organza cut outs on the shoulders and back. I bought is a few summers ago at Horizons in Williamsburg. “It could be Givenchy or YSL,” Paola applauded. “It’s very chic.” She wrapped the tunic with her vintage gold leopard buckle belt – “could be Cartier!” – over a black string bikini, accessorized with her vintage Christian Dior sunglasses, gold Boucheron ring, Chanel flats and her ever-lasting black nail polish. According to her husband James the sunglasses are worth over $2000. (Are they real gold, James?) But then he does have expensive taste. He bought the ring for Paola on a whim, while they were strolling through Paris.
If not gold or worth millions, I hope these photos will create priceless memories. Happy Birthday Wonderful Woman xxx
