Look of the Week: I’m in Tokyo!

It’s my very first time in Tokyo, or Japan, or the East for that matter but I feel right at home. This is my kind of city. It’s positively busy and happily bustling. The weather’s been unusually warm – surprised? The people are friendly and helpful, even though most don’t speak English. And the whole shopping experience is just a trip. I am going ga-ga over all the cuteness here. It’s all bows and fur and pompoms. I don’t know where to look first! People told me I would love it, but it already exceeds my expectations.

Street Peeper and I decided to do a little shoot on my first day off. He caught me on the back streets of Omotesando Hills in a wildflower vintage sweater, rose print vintage skirt skirt and a pair of heart shaped pink sunglasses I just bought. My mom got both pieces for me last week, the sweater first, at Artists and Fleas in Williamsburg. And when we saw the skirt two hours later, at the Chelsea Garage, we thought the ‘non-matching matchiness’ was too good to pass up. It’s pretty dead-on. And you recognize my yellow suede Aldo pumps and cobalt Prada bag…

I will be posting about my Tokyo experience for the next two weeks. I am shooting a few cool Japanese girls (and maybe boy!) and snapping impressions everywhere I go. And hopefully I’ll have some good new stuff to shoot for the next couple of Looks of the Week. So stay tuned!!
