My friend Dryce designs this really cool line of trench coats out of Paris called Lahssan. You’ve seen them on Elisa Nalin a bunch during Fashion Week – they’re buddies and she’s been like walking – and forever smiling! – advertising for him. What I love about his coats is the way he plays with fabrics. He mixes vinyl with cotton, cotton with fur, nylon with leather, dissecting the coat into blocks, or strips, but always keeps the classic shape of the coat, just reinvents the combination. The one I’m wearing is black crunched vinyl mixed with navy blue cotton. They’re on sale at Opening Ceremony in beige and black! I shot this series of photos right after New Year’s – can you see me shiver?? It was freezing that day and I’d just gotten back from Uruguay where I got the hat. Thank GOD for that hat! It’s the best piece of knit I every bought and it’s traveled with me everywhere since. It’s made from local Uruguayan sheep wool. The boots are old Burberry’s. And the gloves I’ve had for years. And hallelujah they’ve all been put into storage now. Hello spring!
