I hadn’t planned on this being a Wes Anderson tribute, but the red hat wanted me to. It was the coup-de-coeur that annihilated all other intentions. Once on my head I was in Steve Zissou land, smoking cigarettes with Margot. I didn’t mind. Because I like Wes’ movies. They’re smart and witty and have just the right amount of whim to keep me interested. I thought Moonrise Kingdom was a bit too gimmicky but I caught myself thinking: Wes, please let me style one of your movies…
