Sydney Fashion Week: the shows

If it wasn’t for the distance and horrid jet-lag, Sydney could easily become one of the major fashion capitals. Australian designers are talented, innovative, and positive. There is a vision here, a sense of community, a common ground that translates so well into their clothes there’s a homogenously happy yet stylishly versatile perspective on design. It’s great to see all the designers get together for dinner – they’ve all been pals for year. There’s no animosity, no envy; everyone supports each other, even if they have no front row seat. They’re also beyond generous. They understand the impact of street style and international support from editors and bloggers (except Kym Ellery, who got mad because I wore her outfit to an event the day I shot it… ) and showered us with invites and gifts. I am so so grateful to Dion Lee, Camilla and Marc, everyone at Sass & Bide, Nic Brian and Susien Chong of Lover, Josh Goot, Alice McCall, Rachel Gilbert, Brenda Harvey of Benah, the boys of Ksubi and all the PR girls (especially Linlee Allen!!) for the love and all the laughs. See you next year!!

For more in-depth interviews about my experiences read Australian Vogue and Russh Magazine.
